Anthony Edwards reveals what he told Jamal Murray after Game 4 loss

The Timberwolves had a ton of reason to be disheartened Sunday as they surrendered home-court advantage back to the Nuggets. Even as Karl-Anthony Towns and Mike Conley sauntered to the locker room with hunched shoulders, Anthony Edwards reacted as if his team had just seized a 3-1 series lead.

As the final buzzer sounded, Edwards clapped his hands and talked some trash to Jamal Murray

After the game, the Timberwolves star revealed what he told his Nuggets counterpart. Edwards implied that Murray talked trash to him, triggering his response.

"I just told his [self] 'we love that,'" Edwards told reporters. "Keep talking that [trash], that's what we like. Well, I love it. He didn't say nothing back. But I'm pretty sure he heard me. They heard me. Yeah, we live for that."

On commentary, TNT's Reggie Miller acknowledged the budding rivalry between Edwards and Murray, which dates back to last year's playoffs when the Nuggets beat the Timberwolves. Furthermore, the microphones caught the two stars engaging in a back-and-forth during Game 1 of the ongoing series.

Also, in February, Edwards threw shade at Murray when he suggested that the Nuggets star wasn't worthy of an All-Star selection. Last week, Edwards again took a swipe at Murray by saying that he doesn't consider the Nuggets guard to be "an OG" he looks up to in the league.

One thing is for certain: regardless of who has the last laugh here, we could be in the early stages of a rivalry for the ages. The Nuggets host Tuesday's Game 5 with the series tied at two wins apiece.
