Watch: 49ers' Christian McCaffrey scores touchdown on incredible trick play

The first touchdown pass in Super Bowl LVIII did not belong to either Brock Purdy or Patrick Mahomes. It belonged to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings on a trick play to give the 49ers a 10-0 lead late in the first half.

Have a look:

The play started with Purdy throwing the ball behind the line of scrimmage to Jennings, who then lobbed a pass the entire way across the field to running back Christian McCaffrey

After catching the pass in traffic McCaffrey was able to weave his way through the Kansas City defense for the game's first touchdown.

McCaffrey was the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year and that was one of his biggest plays of the season.

Jennings also became the first wide receiver to throw a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl since Super Bowl XL in 2006 when Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver threw a touchdown pass to Hines Ward on a trick play in their victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
