Since the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that flag football would be one of the new events at the 2028 games in Los Angeles, multiple NFL players have said they want to participate.
On his podcast "The Edge with Micah Parsons," Parsons expressed his desire to not just don the Stars and Stripes in 2028, but also for other NFL stars to join him.

"I'm going to go win an Olympic gold medal and I can't do it in anything else," Parsons said. "I heard Tyreek [Hill] was joining, we need Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb. All of our guys need to be out there. We should run through everybody."
He also hinted at a position change for Team USA.
"I think I might be playing offense for the guys."
Tyreek Hill made similar comments on his own podcast on Oct. 16.

"It'd be crazy to see some of our best talent in one place competing against the talent in the rest of the world," he said. "I grew up a fan of the Dream Team and I just love the competitive drive of those guys. So saying I was able to play on the Olympic level and compete for a medal for the U.S. would be special."
Along with Hill and Parsons, former New England and Tampa Bay tight end Rob Gronkowski has expressed his interest in joining the squad in 2028.
Despite the overlap of the Olympics and football season, NFL executive Peter O'Riley said on Tuesday that the NFL and Players Association will work on allowing "current and former players," to compete in the 2028 games, per the Associated Press.
The IOC announced on Oct. 16 that five total sports would be added to the games with baseball/softball, cricket, lacrosse and squash all set to join flag football in 2028.
The 2024 Paris Games will also see new events with surfing, skateboarding, sport climbing and breaking making their debuts as part of an initiative to inspire more youth to get into accessible activities.
2028 is a long time away for a football player so while the biggest names in the league today may not be able to represent the country then, it should still be a ton of fun to see any form of American football on the international stage.
